Something I forgot to mention:
PhD: While I haven’t done anything with my research since presenting at the European Conference on Positive Psychology in Dublin first week of July, I did venture a question to a psychic—there for entertainment—at my friend’s birthday party July 18th.
“What the fuck is going on with my Ph.D.?”
When she drew the Tarot cards she went, “Oh,” with a sort of sad, wispy sigh.
That can’t be good.
“You should feel unstuck in about a month,” she said, which made sense to me since it was my plan to not touch my research for a month anyway. “Talk to your advisor,” she continued. Lady, if you only knew… I’ve been trying to. “And don’t worry,” she finished, “you’ll be done sooner than you think.”
So, if—against all of my skeptical judgment about divination—this lady is for real, maybe I will finish by May 2028. Hell, miracles can happen. She even said I’d be receiving a financial blessing soon. Likely my student loans paying out.
I sent an email to my advisor.
Vow of Dedication: Honestly, I already hate this. It’s more like a sabbatical or hiatus. Whatever.
